award winning project: Huntsbury

This extensively renovated two-storey residence perched high in the hills above Christchurch, has been overhauled and upgraded and now boasts numerous spaces to enjoy expansive views across the city to the sea.

In order to achieve the transformation, the house had to be completely stripped back to the original block and steel. The cladding replaced with aluminium weatherboard and engineered laminate, which was installed by our BD Construction team. Long-run metal sheets replace the old roof.

Inside, the home has polished concrete floors and high ceilings. Atrium windows flood the upper level with light and warmth. Sustainable elements were at the forefront of design.  You can enjoy the views in every weather and wind direction, thanks to louvre roofs and a stunning outdoor fireplace.

This home renovation won a Master Builders House of the Year Gold, National Top 100 Award, which represents an extremely high standard of building and recognises Excellence in workmanship, creativity and innovation. The highly prestigious awards celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of Master Builders in New Zealand.
