award winning project: Fendalton

This impeccable upgraded two-storey character home is modern, sleek and great for family living.  BD Construction are very proud of this complex renovation.

Once clad in brick and plaster, today this home is clad in timber weatherboard with cedar shingle gables.

As well as a complete remodel inside and out, the foundations have been completely replaced with specific design by Buchanan and Fletcher, this was done while holding the house in-situ.  An extension to the rear consisted of a large open plan kitchen/dining/living room with separate laundry and butlers pantry.  French doors open to the wrap-around deck and outdoor bbq/dining area with fireplace.

Everything possible has been done to keep the character of this old property including replacement copper down-pipes and spouting, retro fitting of double glazed units to existing timber joinery to help keep the appearance but bringing it up to today's standards.  A mix of sound-line gib and acoustic insulation throughout ensures a lovely quiet feel to the place even though its in the heart of the city.  

A separate garage was built to match and tie in with the house; clad in timber weatherboard, cedar shingles and copper spouting.

This home renovation won a Master Builder of the Year Silver Award which recognises Excellence.
